60 Seconds Nail Varnish -- Rimmel London vs Collection

L-R  All nail varnishes, C-Fruit Salad, C-Hiphop, R-Sky High, R-Oh Boy You're So Fine.

I purchased all 4 of these nail varnishes at Superdrug (British sort of drugstore) where the Rimmel 60 second nail varnishes are £3.69 ($5.68) and the Collection 60 second nail varnishes are £1.99 ($3.06).

Personally for me I don't have any patience at all when it comes to the tedious period where you can't touch anything for fear your nail varnish will smudge, and when i say impatient I mean impatient, sometimes I can't be bothered to wait for the 60 seconds to pass which has caused me to buy a quick dry top coat (future blog post) however when my nails are painted all 4 colours are extremely nice and Collection varnishes don't chip any quicker than the Rimmel ones (I do use the same topcoat for both, I'm not sure how they would fair without one.

One of the things I would say makes the Rimmel nail varnishes slightly nicer is the brush, Collection has your bog standard round brush where as the Rimmel boast (Yes boast, they even announce it on the lid although I peeled that sticker off) a flat brush that means at least for me application is a lot easier. This brush is what I think makes up the second reason I prefer Rimmel which is that you don't need as many coats of the Rimmel, I can get away with just the one coat with some shades (I do recommend 2 coats for Sky High as it can look slightly wishy washy) whereas with Collections I need 2 coats certainly (I feel that Fruit Salad looks its best with 3 coats) which for someone that doesn't like waiting can be time consuming.

I highly recommend both brands if you don't mind the extra minute wait for an extra coat of nail varnish, but I deffinately recommend at least looking at the Rimmel for the brush which I'm probably yapping on about when nobody else care, oh well :)

Hasta La Vista xx
